CH. Briden's Innocent Endeavor (Nami) |

Nami
Nami was born on December 6th, 1999 the offspring of a much-anticipated litter between mom Ebony and dad Blake (Ch Undercover’s Ebony Escapade and Ch Awhat’s Red Hot). There were 3 in the litter, Nami, his sister Kia, and brother Tux (who was the only black and white in the litter, like his momma). Even as a puppy Nami was very outgoing and was getting into mischief at an early age.
Nami’s name (pronounced Nah-me) is a bit of a story. I had thought of his registered name as Briden’s Innocent Endeavor long before he was even born, but just couldn’t think of a call name. We affectionately referred to him as “the pup with no name” for a while. That name became shorter and he was called “No-nah-me” for a while. That name became shorter to just “Nah-me” but we were spelling it n-a-m-e. I changed the spelling to Nami so no one would think his name was “Name”.
Nami was the pup I chose to keep and show from this litter and he was shown in several shows. While he didn’t develop into the show dog I had hoped for, he did develop into a very fun and happy boy. He truly loves life. Nami was socialized from an early age with people of all ages, other dogs, and cats.
As a puppy, Nami was horribly loud in a crate. There were times that, against my better judgement, we would let Nami sleep on the couch with either my husband or myself. We would begin by giving him a “chewy” of either a rawhide bone, or a chew hoof, and let him settle in on the couch. After making sure we were truly asleep, he would find something to tear up. I believe once it happened to be the arm of the couch. After he had finished his masterpiece, he would settle down next to his person, and take a long hard nap. (After pooping in the hallway mind you… gotta leave a present for those humans ya know). Waking up was an adventure, as we never knew what destruction would be done.
Nami was also the daddy to a litter born last August. This was a breeding between one of my girls, Genie (Briden’s I Dream of Genie), and Nami and was not a planned litter. I was away at a show and my husband accidentally had the wrong 2 dogs out. This produced a litter of 3 and all were red and whites. The pups were named, Rosie (Briden’s Fair Rose), Echo (Briden’s Echo of Innocence), and Reggie (Briden’s Clever Endeavor) and all are spayed and neutered and in wonderful homes.
Nami now lives with Deborah and Darryl in Illinois. He enjoys hiding under the bed or behind the couch when it is “crate time”, and going places with his hoomans on the weekend. Deb relayed the following story:
“Nami gets Sooooo excited when we go to the drive-thru at the bank. He often whines and carries on in the car just waiting for the tube to come back as there will be a treat in there for him. Once he was carrying on so much that the lady in the next lane asked if he was ok. We simply told her that he was waiting for the tube to come back with his doggie treat.”
What a smart dog! Nami enjoys the good life now and has made his hoomans VERY happy!
